I've known East Devon's Pebblebed Heaths National Nature Reserve for years, and you'll find other example of my work there throughout my site. Common Place is a series of short films, the result of in-depth archival research into the Pebblebed Heaths and common land more generally. I spent the month around the solstice 2023 filming in the golden light and gloaming to capture the strangeness of this beautiful place and to explore the complex, contradictory, and occasionally unsettling histories to be found there.
